This dip is a creamy and flavorful twist on the traditional Greek tzatziki. This dip combines the classic ingredients of tzatziki with the smooth, rich texture of avocado, making it a perfect companion for vegetables, pita bread, or grilled meats.

Avocado Tzatziki Dip
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Large ripe avocado
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 Cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely grated
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp Fresh dill, chopped
- 1 Tbsp Fresh mint, chopped
- 1 Lemon, juiced
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- After peeling and seeding the cucumber, grate it finely. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible using your hands or a clean kitchen towel. This step is crucial to avoid making your tzatziki too watery.
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl. Using a fork, mash the avocado until it's mostly smooth with some small chunks remaining for texture.
- To the mashed avocado, add the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped mint, lemon juice, and olive oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning by adding more lemon juice if you desire more tanginess or more herbs for a stronger herbal flavor.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tzatziki for at least 30 minutes before serving. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld together nicely.
- Transfer the avocado tzatziki into a serving bowl. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and sprinkle some chopped herbs on top for garnish if desired. Serve with sliced vegetables, pita chips, or over grilled meats.
